Courses at KS4

Towards the the end of Key Stage 3, pupils complete a process we refer to as ‘Pathways’ which is explained more fully here.  The process explains to pupils and parents/carers the courses that are available to study in Key Stage 4, detailed in the Pathways booklet.

An overview of the courses available to our pupils to follow in 2023/24 is shown below:

The compulsory Core Subjects will be:

1. English (English Language & Literature)
2. Mathematics
3. Science (Combined Science – 2 GCSEs)

Students will also study, but not be examined on:

4. Physical Education
5. PSHE

Pathway courses:

These are the courses, in alphabetical order, which students will choose to study alongside the compulsory core:

• Art & Design
• Computer Science
• Design & Technology (Resistant materials and Textiles)
• Drama
• Food Preparation & Nutrition
• French
• Geography
• Geology
• History
• Music
• Religious Studies
• Science (Triple Science)
• Sport Studies (OCR National)

Students will study four of these subjects.
